WoW Blacksmithing Guide
This guide provides you the cheapest and the quickest way to level Blacksmithing. It mostly uses plans obtained from vendors and trainers. So you won't go through the whole world to get rare plans and got 2 more points in your skill. Some plans are quest rewards, but it's easy to get them. To get the information about specific plans (its source) you can click on its title.
At skill level 200 (and character's level 40) you can choose your specialization – Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing. To get Armorsmithing talk to Myolor Sunderfury (Ironforge, Alliance) or Krathok Moltenfist (Orgrimmar, Horde) and complete the recieved quest. The Weaponsmithing quest–givers are Ironus Coldsteel (Ironforge, Alliance) and Borgosh Corebender (Orgrimmar, Horde). If you are a weaponsmith at level 250 you can choose a subspeciality: Axesmithing, Hammersmithing or Swordsmithing. For more information on specializations go to WoWWiki. At any time You can unlearn your specialization and get new one for a gold fee (~100g).
Another great ability of Blacksmiths is socketing. At level 400 you can add socket to your Bracers and Gloves. And at level 420 you can create Eternal Belt Buckle. It can be traded so it may be used by other people to create socket in their belt. This item can be a source of high income for blacksmith.
The ultimate profession pair for Blacksmithing is mining. At high levels (350+) leveling blacksmithing may become really expensive while you will need MANY metal bars (and stones at low levels). Save a lot of gold by gathering materials yourself, not buying them from AH. You will save something about 1.5k gold only on saronite and cobalt, not talking about titanium.
